Pretty J Virtual Try-On Privacy Notice
Effective date: 27 July 2026
Last updated: 28 July 2026
This notice explains how Pretty J collects, uses, shares, and retains personal data when you use our Virtual Try-On feature.
Pretty J is an ecommerce brand operated by ABECODS Digital Solution, registered in Qatar.
Address: Al-Mouather Street, North Mouather, Doha, Qatar
Privacy contact: hello@prettyj.store
This notice supplements Pretty J's general Privacy Policy and applies specifically to Virtual Try-On.
1. How Virtual Try-On works
Virtual Try-On allows you to upload or take a photograph and receive an AI-generated preview showing how a selected Pretty J product may look on you.
When you submit a photo:
- Your browser prepares and resizes the image for upload.
- The image and selected product information are sent securely to Pretty J's automation server.
- The image and relevant product photographs are sent to our AI processing provider, Kie.ai.
- The AI provider creates a try-on result.
- The result is returned to your browser for viewing.
Virtual Try-On is an illustrative visualization tool. Results may not reproduce exact sizing, fit, fabric behaviour, colour, proportion, or appearance.
2. Data we process
Depending on how you use Virtual Try-On, we may process:
Your photograph
The photograph you upload or capture, which may show your face, body, clothing, surroundings, or other personal information visible in the image.
Please avoid uploading photographs containing information you do not want processed.
AI-generated result
The resulting image created from your photograph and Pretty J's product images.
Product information
Information about the product you selected, such as:
- Product and variant identifiers.
- Product title, category, tags, and image URLs.
- Product-page address.
- The product selected for the try-on.
Usage and technical data
To operate the feature, prevent misuse, enforce daily limits, and diagnose errors, we may process:
- Your Shopify customer ID if you are signed in.
- An anonymous browser identifier if you are not signed in.
- Your IP address.
- Date and number of try-on attempts.
- Whether you are using a guest or customer allowance.
- Task identifiers, processing status, error information, and timestamps.
- Browser, request, and basic technical information contained in server logs.
- A record that you consented to this notice, including the notice version and the date of consent.
The anonymous browser identifier and local quota record may remain in your browser storage until they are replaced or you clear your browser data. Your photograph is not intentionally saved in browser local storage.
3. Why we process this data
We process this data only to:
- Generate the virtual try-on result you request.
- Display and, where necessary, retry the result.
- Apply guest, customer, and security usage limits.
- Protect the service from misuse and excessive automated requests.
- Troubleshoot failed or incomplete generations.
- Maintain the security and reliability of the feature.
- Respond to privacy questions, complaints, or legal obligations.
We do not use Virtual Try-On photographs for advertising, customer profiling, or direct marketing. Analytics events fired by this feature (for example, that a try-on was started, completed, or failed) never include your photograph, the AI-generated result, or any image URL — only non-image metadata such as product ID, timestamps, and error codes.
We do not sell your photographs or AI-generated results.
We do not use your photograph to verify your identity, perform facial recognition, or create a biometric identity profile.
4. Consent and your responsibilities
Virtual Try-On is optional. You can browse and purchase Pretty J products without using it.
Before your first use of Virtual Try-On (and again whenever this notice materially changes), you will be shown a consent screen and asked to actively confirm that you have read this notice and agree to the processing described in it. We keep a record of that confirmation, including the notice version and date, tied to your usage identifier described in section 2. You can withdraw this consent at any time from within the Virtual Try-On window — see section 8.
By confirming consent and submitting a photograph, you confirm that:
- You are at least 16 years old.
- The photograph is of you, or you have permission from every identifiable person shown.
- You are authorized to submit the photograph for AI processing.
- The photograph does not contain unlawful, abusive, intimate, or inappropriate material.
- You understand that the photograph will be processed by external technology providers and may be processed outside Qatar.
Do not submit photographs of children or anyone who has not agreed to the processing.
You may withdraw before submission by closing the Virtual Try-On window. After a photograph has been submitted, processing may already have begun. Withdrawal does not undo processing that has already occurred, and deletion will follow the retention schedule below (or the immediate deletion you can trigger yourself — see section 8).
5. Service providers and data sharing
We share VTO data only with providers required to operate and secure the feature.
Shopify
Pretty J's storefront is operated using Shopify. If you are signed in, your Shopify customer ID may be used to apply your daily customer allowance.
We do not intentionally add your uploaded photograph or generated result to your Shopify customer profile, order record, or account history.
Pretty J automation and hosting infrastructure
The photograph passes through Pretty J's n8n automation environment, hosted using third-party cloud infrastructure. This environment validates the request, applies usage limits, sends the image for AI processing, and returns the result.
Kie.ai
The photograph and relevant Pretty J product images are uploaded to Kie.ai, including its file-processing infrastructure, to generate the requested result.
Kie.ai may use underlying AI model and infrastructure providers to complete the generation. Kie.ai's published documentation states that uploaded files are automatically deleted on a short retention schedule of its own (Kie.ai's own terms describe this as being deleted within a matter of hours to a few days after upload). Kie.ai does not publish a specific retention period for the AI-generated result it returns to us. We do not control, and cannot independently guarantee, Kie.ai's internal retention timeline beyond what Kie.ai publishes; we link its current terms below for reference.
Legal disclosures
We may disclose relevant information when reasonably necessary to:
- Comply with Qatari law, a court order, or a lawful government request.
- Investigate fraud, abuse, or a security incident.
- Protect Pretty J, our shoppers, or other people from harm.
- Establish, exercise, or defend legal rights.
We do not permit service providers to use the data for Pretty J marketing.
6. International processing
Some hosting, automation, AI, and technical service providers may process data outside Qatar.
Privacy and data-protection laws in those countries may differ from Qatari law. We take reasonable steps to use providers that apply appropriate confidentiality and security measures, but no online transmission or third-party processing service can be guaranteed completely secure.
By choosing to use Virtual Try-On, confirming consent, and submitting your photograph, you consent to these transfers for the purpose of generating your result.
7. How long data is retained
We apply the following retention periods:
Photographs and generated results
- Image-containing records on Pretty J's n8n automation system are retained for no longer than 14 days, enforced by an automated daily cleanup process. In normal operation, Pretty J's systems do not retain the underlying execution data (including your photograph) at all once your try-on is complete — the 14-day rule is a safety net, not the typical case.
- Photographs and generated media handled by Kie.ai are deleted automatically on Kie.ai's own, separate retention schedule, which is shorter than Pretty J's 14-day window for uploaded photographs (see section 5) and is not separately published by Kie.ai for generated results.
Technical and processing logs
Non-image VTO execution logs, task metadata, error records, and AI-provider logs may be retained for up to two months. These records may contain technical identifiers, timestamps, processing status, product information, and image references, but are not retained for marketing.
Usage-limit and consent records
Shopify customer IDs, anonymous guest identifiers, IP-based usage records, dates, try-on counts, and consent confirmation records used for quota and abuse prevention are retained for up to two months, enforced by the same automated cleanup process. Browser identifiers may remain on your device until you clear your browser storage.
No permanent Pretty J photo gallery
Pretty J does not maintain a permanent shopper gallery or intentionally attach VTO photographs to orders, customer accounts, or marketing profiles.
8. Photograph deletion
You can request deletion of your Virtual Try-On data yourself, directly from the Virtual Try-On window:
- A "Delete my try-on" button on the result screen removes your usage and consent records from Pretty J's systems immediately.
- A "Withdraw consent / delete my data" link, available at any point in the Virtual Try-On window, does the same and also clears your local consent so you will be asked to consent again before your next try-on.
Either action removes the records under Pretty J's direct control (your usage and consent rows) right away, and notifies our team so we can also request removal from Kie.ai. It does not, on its own, guarantee immediate deletion of any copy still held by Kie.ai — that follows Kie.ai's own retention schedule described in sections 5 and 7.
You can also contact hello@prettyj.store to ask whether identifiable VTO records remain and to request removal of anything under Pretty J's direct control. Submitting a request does not guarantee deletion earlier than the disclosed provider schedules.
All VTO photographs and generated media on Pretty J's own systems should be removed automatically within 14 days at the latest (typically much sooner, per section 7). Kie.ai removes uploaded photographs on its own shorter schedule. Related non-image logs, usage records, and consent records on Pretty J's systems should be removed within two months.
9. Your privacy rights
Subject to the circumstances and applicable Qatari law, you may have the right to:
- Ask whether we process personal data relating to you.
- Request access to personal data we can reasonably identify.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Object to certain processing.
- Withdraw consent for future processing (see section 8 for how to do this directly in the Virtual Try-On window).
- Request deletion when the purpose of processing has ended.
- Raise a complaint about how your data was handled.
- Ask to be notified about an inaccurate or improper disclosure.
Because we do not require your name or email address to use Virtual Try-On, we may be unable to identify an anonymous image or task as belonging to you without supporting technical information.
When making a request, please provide:
- The approximate date and time of the try-on.
- The product involved.
- Whether you were signed in.
- Any task or error reference shown to you.
- A clear description of your request.
Do not email us another copy of the photograph unless we specifically request it through a secure method.
Send requests to hello@prettyj.store. We aim to acknowledge and respond to privacy complaints within 30 calendar days.
These rights reflect Qatar's Personal Data Privacy Protection Law No. 13 of 2016 and official individual-rights guidance.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect VTO data, including:
- HTTPS-encrypted transmission.
- Restricted access to automation and AI credentials.
- File-type and upload-size validation.
- Usage and abuse controls.
- Limited retention periods, enforced by automated cleanup.
- Automatic deletion procedures.
- Separation of VTO processing from marketing activities.
No internet or AI service is completely risk-free. Please do not upload a photograph if you are uncomfortable with the processing described in this notice.
11. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice if the Virtual Try-On workflow, providers, retention periods, legal requirements, or privacy controls change.
Material changes will be published on this page with a revised "Last updated" date, and — where the change materially expands how photographs are used — you will be asked to confirm the updated consent screen again before your next try-on.
